Muhammadiyah to Hold Eid ul Adha Prayer in 120 Locations

Muhammadiyah, the second-largest Muslim organization in Indonesia, has prepared 120 locations for Eid ul Adha prayer in five municipalities on Saturday (10/4).

We’ll do Eid ul Adha prayer tomorrow, one day earlier

Chairman of Jakarta Muhammadiyah Executive Board (DPW), Agus Suradika, disclosed that Muhammadiyah will conduct Eid ul Adha prayer on upcoming October 4, earlier from the government’s decree.

“We’ll do Eid ul Adha prayer tomorrow, one day earlier,” he stated, Thursday (10/2).

2,338 Sacrificial Animals in West Jakarta Passed Health Tests

These are some of the locations that have been prepared for Eid ul Adha prayer:

1. East Jakarta

- Jalan Balai Pustaka Barat Rawamangun

- Horse race field on Jalan Pulomas Raya

- Nusantara Theater parking lot in Jatinegara Barat

- Perumnas Klender Islamic Center yard

- Uhamka University Pasar Rebo on Jalan Tanah Merdeka

2. North Jakarta

- Al-Husna Mosque Tanjung Priok

- Mitra Bahari Penjaringan Apartment yard

- Islam Jakarta Sukapura Hospital

- Elang Market field

- Basket Ball court PTHI Kelapa Gading Residence Complex

- Koja

3. South Jakarta

- Muhammadiyah Uhamka University field on Jalan Limau Kebayoran Baru

- Al-Huda Muhammadiyah Tebet Timur Mosque yard

- Lemigas Kebayoran Lama field

- Mubasyirin Setiabudi Mosque yard

- Darul Hikam Bukit Duri Mosque

4. West Jakarta

- Wijaya Kusuma Slipi soccer field

- Al-Huda Mosque on Jalan Latumenten II Jelambar

- Uswatun Hasanah Mosque on Jalan Daan Mogot Cengkareng

- State Senior High School (SMAN) 2 yard on Jalan Gajah Mada

- Baitul Hikmah Mosque Perguruan Muhammadiyah Tomang Residence Complex

According to Suradika, who also serves as Head of Jakarta Library and National Archives (BPAD) Agency, after Eid ul Adha prayer the sacrificial animals slaughtering will be conducted in those locations.

“Usually, we directly slaughtered sacrificial animals distributed their meats to the needy,” he said.

For information, Eid ul Adha 1435 Hijri is set in the Edict No. 02/MLM/I.O/E/2014 on the Determination Results of Reckoning Ramadan, Syahwal, and Dzulhijjah 1435 Hijri which signed by Muhammadiyah Chairman Din Syamsuddin on May 8, 2014. In the meantime, through isbat (confirmation) meeting on September 24, Indonesian government determined that Eid ul Adha falls on October 5.
